Sunny Creative is a new company started by Christian Smith and Louise Bell, two writers and editors with extensive experience, who also happen to be husband and wife. Their core idea is one that they have kicked around with colleagues in the creative and media industry for years: to create, not a traditional agency with all the usual physical trappings and overheads, but a nimble, flexible, virtual talent network, from which bespoke teams can be created to meet the needs of particular projects. In other words, to deliver the expertise and support of a first class content agency, but at a significantly smaller cost.
Christian has been working in publishing and marketing for more than 20 years and has been asked in to advise on pitches and new launches many times. His specialities are print, particularly magazines, and the business, technology and luxury arenas. Working either on his own or with content or branding agencies, he has edited magazines or created brand collateral for Tetra Pak, IBM, Nasdaq, NCR, Vertu, Moss Bros, King’s College London, David Morris and many more, building many excellent, lasting client relationships along the way.
Louise has been a writer and editor for more than 17 years, initially specialising in public sector communications where she learned many valuable lessons about reaching tightly defined audience groups and translating complex messages into simple, accessible language. Recently, she has been working on London South Bank University’s alumni magazine, writing persuasive patient-focused marketing materials for pharma partnering company Quintiles and developing educational resources for Sky.
Separately and together, Christian and Louise have built up contacts and relationships with a huge variety of art directors, graphic designers, illustrators, writers, editors, coders and production specialists.
