Hedge magazine is a luxury lifestyle magazine aimed at London’s hedge fund community, and a sister publication to the City-focused Square Mile. We were asked by publisher Square Up Media to develop and launch the title, working closely with art director Hicham Kasbi.
We built the magazine around four key areas of interest – business, art, food and travel – with a geographic focus on Mayfair, the burgeoning hedge fund centre. In a short time, and with very limited resources, we built up a strong record for exceptional content and an outstanding contributor list.
In the first year, we secured exclusive interviews with Thierry Stern (Patek Philippe), Harold Tillman (Jaeger), Ron Dennis (McLaren), René Redzepi (Noma) and Julian Schnabel, to name just a few. We also gained access to industry figures who hardly ever speak to the media, including Lord Myners (then City Minister) and Mike Platt (Bluecrest Capital, one of the biggest hedge funds in Europe; pictured on the cover here).
We edited the first six issues, then handed over to Square Mile editor Martin Deeson. The magazine is still flourishing, now edited by Mark Hedley.
